In this very moment I wish I wa somewhere far away. Maybe on a beach in Sardinia or climbing a mountain. Unfortunately that is not possible at the moment so I try to replace these hollyday activities with something local. We got out of the house to get to an urban event in the historical centre of Bucharest, but we got somewherelse.A few months ago, Maria came up with a hanging out place for the Thursday Girl meeting. It is called"The mechanic workshop"("Atelier mecanic") and it's a really inspiring place inspired by the communist workshops. It has a very ingenious design, every ellement of this pub being taken from old factories, maybe from people's "communist collections" to create the athmosphere. The tables are simple engines with table top and the bar counter has a big wooden countertop. All the decorative objects are elements comming from a crane, old posters representing the "working class heroes" and many more things from that time.
Here you can have a great unfiltered beer, a cup of coffe or tea in vintage and cute cups, and lots of other funny things like limonade with cucumbers and mint(yaammm). They also have food inspired from the lunches served by the workers those days, like cheese and tomatoes.Mmmm. Who wouldn't like that. All in all we had a great time, we had a great beer,we also remembered old times spent with our granparents (I just came from a 2 days trip in the countryside and I remembered my childhood spent there).
"Atelier mecanic" it's a small place to hang out but it deffenetly made a stand now, when the whole historical center has been studded with dozens of bars and clubs. Oh and of course it looks good. It has been designed by an architect. :P

I recently have received a nice little book of Thom Filicias interior designing, from my friends Alina and Marius. I can say I instantly loved it even though it is a little to American Style for me, but I admire Thom's courage in combining old furniture with strange textiles and funky ornaments.

FRIDAY CRAVING

It is time!Summer time! And obviously, as I always feel in this period of time, I wish I was on the beach, drawling on my blanket from all that sunbathing, along with my friends and a big ice cream. Well this year was the first one when I didn't plan anything special for my summer holiday. Probably because I have already had a holiday, back in May? Yes, that could be a valid answer.:P
For that I remained with the craving. Of an imaginary summer holiday.And with photos.

ATTICDED

This post goes for my boyfriend who totally loves this kind of spaces. I am talking about attics. And he is wright loving them. They give a certain spirit, warmer, friendlier and special. They create a room that for sure can get the "special" one of the whole house, that children and grownups would love unconditionally. Their worm image comes for sure from the wood
( the beams of the roof should be apparent). These beams can be treated as one wishes, they can be painted, lacquered, not lacquered. You can choose whatever you want. You can even hide them, but still keeping the angle of the roof. You will guarantee the same effect: THE ATTIC EFFECT. Oh, I and I won't tell about the ceiling light, placed above the bed or sofa, or just in the middle of the room. Imagine a midnight clear, with the sky full of stars, you snuggling in your bed, with a cup of something in your hand, and of course your sweetheart, watching the sky. Priceless. Or, the soft light of the morning, cracking through the window, right over you. Oh my God! I love attics! And yes, attic style goes for any function of the house, not just bedrooms.
I am a totally attic addict.:P
